turkey for two
with all the fixings
and much
to be thankful for

he was thankful
for the woman
he now called his wife
and the miracle
residing inside her

she was thankful
for her kind and gentle husband
and the child
she now carried inside

and as he reached for her hand
and bowed his head
he couldn’t imagine being any happier
than he was right now
