He felt so lost, so alone
She was the one he counted on
But now she was gone

How he got through each day he didn’t know
Without her here it felt like he was drowning
A little more each day

He hasn’t slept since she was taken
Except for a catnap here and there
And that was 2 months ago

He thought being with Kristen, with anyone
Would somehow lessen the pain
But it doesn’t

He just wanted to feel something, anything
Besides the almost physical ache
That has a deathlike grip on his heart

Gently touching her cross, his lifeline
He wonders how much longer
He can go on without her
